The days of blockbuster movies are in the past, but at this point the conservative portion of the population does not venture into theaters anymore and if they have a streaming service, they buy pre-2010 movies. Like the legacy media, there is a core audience of upper income liberals in upscale suburbs and gentrified urban neighborhoods and college town/resort area dwellers who have drank the kool-aid, so to speak.

Bingo. No one goes to the theater anymore. Surprised they survived the lockdowns.

The last time we were in one was 2011 to see the last Harry Potter movie. The next to the last time was 2010 to see the previous HP movie. The time before that was, of course, the prior HP and they were headed south. Hubby would get free tickets but couldn’t be bothered to go.

The last few night Is have been watching old films on YouTube from the late 1940’s , early 1950’s and they are pretty good. I came upon an actress I was not familiar with who was really good, named Marta Toren, she was kind of billed as the next Ingrid Bergman, sadly she died of a brain clot at 30. Anyway I have seen about 3 of her films and today’s actors just can’t hold a candle to someone like her.
