I will suggest they weren't actors at all. I would label them as soldiers.
Somebody hired them, like Ant teefa soldiers I suppose. I just realized that. Ants swarm on the enemy of the colony to protect the Queen. Very clever of them to hide it like that, and of course being fascistic, when they are fascist.
