And the parents of international students pay whatever Columbia asks which ups what Columbia wants and expects from American students. In addition, Columbia is top heavy as far as “administration” costs with nearly one non-teaching staff employee for ebvery two undergrads. They are not alone in that regard.

I don’t have a clue what you are up to. I don’t think any serious person on this site is in favor of the visas. The person you mentioned originally was criticizing the public education in this country for not turning out capable students, which is true — they are not. And his point being that the greedy colleges populate their student body with foreigners for the money. They seemed to be hostile to Americans.
When I was in college, there were many students from the Middle East. I assume they went home after graduation.
