My Granddad was gassed by Mustard gas in WW1 and as he laid dying in the VA you could smell a garlic odor in the room as I visited him often as I could. He was an Artilleryman in the US Army and the Gun cooked off a shell and killed several and injured several and the survivors were heading to the rear and walked into cloud of it drifting across the battlefield. He spent 5 years in the Army-Navy Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas before he was discharged as his left eye was put out due the round cooking off and lungs damaged from the gas. He got a 2 dollar a month disability from the Government so all that was worth 2 bucks as I got his records in a box...
I am so sorry.
😢
Salute and blessings to grandpa.
