April 3, 1974 was truly historic day for severe weather. The loss of life was staggering. Sad...
I just got a weather alert on the My Radar App to expect large hail and wind gust up to 90 mile per hour tomorrow.
what State are you in??....dont sound good at all..be safe.
It’s not “the end of the world.” But for a few people, it may well be...
I’ve seen nearly clear hail, if that counts...
Yes, it was devastating. Stay safe!
LMAO. I wish it were in my imagination.
My dad was the chief of police, so he was tasked with identifying the bodies. That experience changed him forever.
True. So many places were devastated.
And milk..for milk sandwiches.
Oklahoma City now - checking in with high sustained wind and 50 mph gusts. Blowing dirt all the way from Amarillo - I hate Texas
a read a great book about the tornado that hit Xenia, Ohio that day. Im not far from Xenia, and so one Saturday i went there, stopped in a local bar, and just talked to many people about that storm. Even though it was a good 30 years after the storm, many of those i spoke to were still deeply affected by the whole thing. One woman told me that if the skies simply get dark, she just shakes uncontrollably....just awful stuff.
You too! I am 70 y.o. and mostly lifelong Alabamian (lived out of state twice for several months each time) and have only seen two tornadoes in my lifetime and both were in the air. Never experienced one on the ground and hope I never do.
I sincerely hope you never see one.
Prayers for your safety and the safety of your family.
St. Louis MO getting hit right now.
Already happening, Line of supercells stretching from Arkansas-Eastern MO to Northern ILL.
Tornado touchdowns reported in several of these this evening.
