I remember that song, and I liked it as a child. I didn't know that it was "Eurovision," and therefore I was supposed to not like it.

1968 was also the year Classical Gas went to #1 in the United States. It was written by Mason Williams, who was (at that time) head writer for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Very talented guy.

Also that year, 1968, MacArthur Park went to #1. Perhaps Jimmy Webb's magnum opus.

A remarkable year for music, and to be young. That year would end with the Book of Genesis coming to us from lunar orbit.

What a great time for music it was. That music crossed age barriers. It was decent,, with great melodies.
