Blaming ALL whites is a way to avoid blaming SOME whites. In the US, it was the Democratic party that was pro-slavery. Better to blame whites that to blame Democrats. The same with Indian removal, segregation, Japanese American internment. It probably works the same way in Europe.

In the US, it was the Democratic party that was pro-slavery.

And it was the *LIBERAL* big government Republicans that pretended to care about slavery. (See Corwin Amendment where they voted to protect slavery forever.)

What they all cared about was money. Washington DC was a corrupt sewer since the 1820s, at least.
