The Strange Love of Martha Ivers is a 1946 noir tragedy film directed by Lewis Milestone, starring Barbara Stanwyck, Van Heflin, Lizabeth Scott, Judith Anderson, and the film debut of Kirk Douglas. It follows a man who is reunited with his childhood friend and her husband, who believe the man knows the truth about the mysterious death of the woman's wealthy aunt, years prior.

Great movie. Kind of creepy in its own way. Noir to the core. Givens me the willies thinking about it.

Great one. Douglas' first movie.

Stanwyck was the best movie actress.

Correct. 1933. Pre-code. The first man Stanwyck beds and discards on her way up in the bank is played by the young, unknown John Wayne.

Love this movie. Saw it for the first time as a teen
on the Late Show movie. I like it better than Double Indemnity. Stanwyck is even more evil and she’s not wearing that god awful blonde wig.
