I used to work in SW New Mexico and sometimes would have to go find things in an old warehouse. All the boxes were covered with dust and mouse droppings, and I used to joke about getting hantavirus, but I never did. These days I’d take it a lot more seriously.

Rather famous YouTuber named Dalton summit got it from mouse poo in a vehicle he was reviving. It put him in the hospital it is a nasty bug no doubt

We have rodent problems in our outbuilding over the winter. They are mostly deer mice. I always worry about hantavirus and wear a respirator while using a vacuum with a Hepa-filter. I prep by spraying the droppings down with bleach and sweeping up the ones that I can get to.

the remedy is simple, have a couple of house cats, no problem.
