That answers the question of Gene Hackman’s cause of death. After all, he’s of advanced age.

But his wife’s and dog’s deaths at nearly the same time are still unanswered.

Not the same time. 7 days earlier.

Very sad, as for the dog, earlier reports are that the dog that died , unlike the other two, was locked in a kennel and had no water. I wonder when they will release the cause of death of his wife.

She died of hantavirus.
The dog died of deprivation, because it was locked in a closet.

Well, people aged 64 are not THAT young.
They can die by natural causes!
I lost bunch of friends at about that age.

What is sad, that nobody was around!
Children? Caretakers? Friends?

Well if he suffered severe Alzheimer’s he may not have been able to take care of himself. If she put the dog in the crate in the closet and then had a heart attack... he could end up wandering around for days before he ultimately perished, too.

Very surprising they did not have someone full-time or at least every day to come in and visit.

From a different article.

“On Feb. 9, Arakawa picked up one of their three dogs — the dog who was later found dead in the home with the couple — from a vet hospital after a procedure, which may explain why the dog was discovered in a crate when the bodies were found, the sheriff said.”

I’m sure the dog starved to death in its kennel.
