‘Will I be safe?’ Transgender California youth feel threatened by Trump’s executive orders

A spate of recent policy decisions by the Trump administration targeting transgender youth has led to an escalating mental health crisis among an already vulnerable population, experts and advocates say.

In response to such laws elsewhere, California secured its status two years ago as a sanctuary state for transgender health care, implementing a law allowing out-of-state youth and their families to seek hormones and puberty blockers here. Other recent laws require California insurers to cover transgender health services and protect the medical licenses of doctors who provide the care.

So the cost of private insurance will go up to cover this or we pay for this through our taxes cover the costs associated with Medi-Cal coverage.

A kid walks into a doctors office and says he wants his thumbs cut off. The doctor talks to him for a long time and says he couldn’t do such an operation because the kid will need those thumbs and will regret the decision . The doctor calls the kids parents and they set up counseling sessions so the kid gets the help he needs.

The next day the kid walks into the doctors office and says cut my dick off. The doctor does it immediately, tells the kid he is a hero and is very courageous. The doctor will not tell the parents anything about it. The State pays for all of it.
