Many of them don’t do the research. I got one of these calls, only I don’t have any children or grandchildren - LMAO!
I got one of those calls too.
The call allegedly involved a traffic accident in a neighboring town with my daughter,
and money was needed for an ambulance run to the hospital.
The call included a conversation with my daughter, except they said she was 'shaken' and found it difficult to talk.
The call was somewhat muffled but I detected a slight foreign accent from my 'supposed daughter' during the call.
The only problem is that my daughter is across the 'Big Pond', and hasn't yet acquired the local accent yet.
Unfortunately, all I could do is play along, but when I didn't get hyper excited, the caller hung up on me.
Another scam is the highway/ thruway toll 'in sufficient funds',
or we will report you to the DMV, and cancel your drivers license, unless you pay right away by PayPal.
