Not only that, but any ventilation ducts have white noise generators in them to thwart eavesdropping. Spent over a year on a project in one, it was a dismal experience.
You can give more conceptual details if you will.
Presumably there were file drawers and/or computers in there that were never supposed to leave the room, correct?
“... it was a dismal experience.”
For some. Depends on your facility. I work in a SCIF next to a window on the fourth floor with a view of a river to the west, an ocean to the east, and a space launch site to the north. We do have blinds and white noise generators.
Did not know that about the ventilation ducts.
One of the ones I worked was ok because the whole project team worked in the scif.
On another project, I’d routinely be the only person in the room. I did not like that.
Interesting thing. When Northrup Graumman bought TRW, they closed our offices in Sunnyvale, CA. The main building for classified work was totally torn down because it was cheaper to do that than try to take out the scifs.
I spent 6 months on a ship, that was too long. A year in a ventilation duct had to have been pretty bad.
