Also, he went to Steely Dan lengths for the saxophone solo. He came to the U.S. and got solos from several top flight session guys.
He finally had some British guy come in. Michael told him the session player who had already attempted it, and he said, "I'm not as good as them." They asked him to give it a try, and Michael finally found what he was looking for.
It is a very hard sax part. I played the e flat alto mostly but sometimes the b flat tenor.
