heck, even Bill Maher nailed it: he said in Friday night’s Real Time monologue, that the Oscars are a national rite of television watching where we turn to each other and say, “No, I haven’t heard of that one either.”
Kind of like Tom Cruise playing Reacher.

Darn! I missed seeing that important “first.” I can’t believe I missed that.
These movies sound terrible. I will never watch them. What else is new?
