Same here - the pharmacy reminded me when the second one was warranted. You only need to have Shingles once to become a believer. Burning pain that is quite unbearable - like dozens of bee stings. I had them on my face years ago and was prescribed a topical cream that eased the pain. I didn’t want them again so got one of the few vaccines I’ve had in my long life...

People can have Shingles on other areas of the body like the back which wouldn’t be easy to cover with topical cream so I don’t know what they do for relief but believe me “relief” is necessary to keep from going nuts!

My wife had shingles and was in the hospital for a week. Her doctor was a nationally recognized bone marrow transplant specialist. He did transplants back in the 80’s At her next appointment he looked at her record and said she had dodged a bullet. He said it was spreading. It could have affected her heart, brain and other organs. I have known other people who have needed more than a year to recover.

I had chicken pox as a child. Right now I have a severely herniated L5 S1 disc with intense sciatic so I imagine it is like that (cattle prod like pain)
I’ve been hesitant about getting the shingles vaccine due to the scamdemic.
