When I student taught, my supervising teacher tossed me the grade book and told me to grade them appropriately. Do what you think they deserve. Flunked 10, since it was a required class, the seniors had to take summer school. It wasn’t hard to pass, participate and don’t be an ass.
That was what I witnessed also: show up, answer a question in class now and then, and do your homework most of the time. That usually resulted in a B grade, since most kids never did homework and seldom participated. Test grades barely counted for anything and homework wasn’t corrected.
But this is high school in southern California.
