First, some Judge related headlines.

Judge who blocked Trump deportations took junket to event with anti-Trump speakers, sponsor
For better or worse, judges are often themselves judged by the company they keep.

onths before he blocked President Donald Trump’s deportations of illegal alien gang members, U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg attended a privately-funded legal conference in Idaho that featured sponsors and speakers who have expressed clear anti-Trump sentiments — particularly on immigration — and a theme that echoed the Democrat Party’s 2024 stated mission of saving democracy, according to a judicial ethics report.

Boasberg was one of nine Democrat-appointed judges and three Trump nominated jurists to attend the conference in ritzy Sun Valley, where two of the four sessions were titled “Role of Judges in a Democracy” and the “State of Democracy,” the report shows.

Called a “Privately Funded Seminar Disclosure Report,” the document discloses that Boasberg was in attendance, but offers no details of whether Boasberg was paid for his attendance or travel, or what the remuneration was.

Overseen by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, the ethical rules governing federal judges require that a private entity who “issues an invitation to a federal judge to attend an educational program as a speaker, panelist, or attendee and offers to pay for or reimburse that judge, in excess of $480, must disclose financial and programmatic information.” The rules do not require a specific accounting for each judge, or even how much was paid to judges at all.

GOP lawmakers rolling out legislation to rein in federal judges blocking Trump’s second term agenda
Republicans including Sen. Hawley and Rep. Biggs argue that Congress should move to “stop nationwide injunctions.” The issue of how far a local judge can exert jurisdiction is being reexamined. Some of the injunctions work in favor of terrorist gangs like MS-13 and Tren de Aragua.

“District Court judges have issued RECORD numbers of national injunctions against the Trump administration - a dramatic abuse of judicial authority,” Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., wrote Thursday on X. “I will introduce legislation to stop this abuse for good.” According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, 15 injunctions were imposed against Trump policies in February.

Hawley called on Congress to “stop nationwide injunctions” that are blocking some of Trump’s policies from moving forward. Democrats are trying to kneecap President Trump’s agenda with unelected activist judges. “It’s out of control,” Hawley wrote on X. His proposed legislation would prevent district judges from halting a federal policy from being implemented nationally.

Considering removal of judges without impeachment
Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., said Congress should move to reduce federal funding for some district courts as a way to stop nationwide injunctions. “They’ve definitely exceeded the bounds and scope of their jurisdictional authority, and Congress has got to act and go after that’s why I’ve got one of my bills that’s dealing with a jurisdiction on nationwide injunctions,” he said on the “Just the News, Not Noise” TV program. “We’re working at other things to see if we can actually rein in funding for some of these courts.”

BREAKING: Judge Boasberg rejects Trump admin’s bid to remove block on deporting gang members
Boasberg said that “despite the President’s determination otherwise, Tren de Aragua is not a ‘foreign nation or government,’ and its actions, however heinous, do not amount to an ‘invasion,’ or a ‘predatory incursion.’”
US District Judge James Boasberg on Monday refused to end his temporary ban on the deportation of Venezuelan gang members under the Alien Enemies Act. This comes as an appeals court is set to hear the Trump administration’s case on Monday afternoon.

Trump administration requests Supreme Court halt order from judge to rehire federal workers
The agencies that were impacted by the mass layoffs include the departments of Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Defense, Energy, the Interior and the Treasury.
he Trump administration filed an emergency appeal Monday to the Supreme Court asking it to halt a recent lower court ruling to rehire some federal workers laid off at federal agencies.
The administration said that the ruling should be put on hold because the judge didn’t have authority to order 16,000 probationary employees be re-hired, according to The Associated Press.
The order was from U.S. District Judge William Alsup in San Francisco.

Trump Directs AG Bondi to Crackdown on Army of Anti-Trump Attorneys Who Are Waging “Frivolous, Unreasonable” Lawsuits Against His Administration
“Far too many attorneys and law firms have long ignored these requirements when litigating against the Federal Government or in pursuing baseless partisan attacks,” Trump said in a presidential memorandum the White House released Saturday.

“I hereby direct the Attorney General to seek sanctions against attorneys and law firms who engage in frivolous, unreasonable, and vexatious litigation against the United States.”

The Trump administration has weathered well over 100 lawsuits since late January.
