I agree he used it for materials but I doubt he was there long enough to consume it. Rather large structure.
I’ve always had a problem calling Noah’s Ark a boat. In every place else an “Ark” is a strong box or other secure structure. I lean toward it being a substantial structure built on high ground. And where did Noah get that much wood in the Middle East except in high country? There’s no evidence that he even had a crosscut saw. Takes a lot of faith to take the story literally.
