Mark Carney became the new Prime Minister of Canada by winning the leadership race of the Liberal Party of Canada on March 9, 2025. He was elected by Liberal Party members to replace Justin Trudeau. Carney’s victory was overwhelming, as he secured 85.9% of the vote.
