Legendary Hollywood actor Gene Hackman has been found dead in his Santa Fe, New Mexico home alongside his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican, citing police.
Santa Fe County police discovered the body of the two-time Oscar winner, 95, and 63-year-old Arakawa — his wife of 34 years — and their dog on Wednesday afternoon.
Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed the news on Thursday, saying no foul play is suspected.

I have three CO detectors in my home. My wife’s good friend and former employer died at 98 from CO. Sad. Even though I have three, I believe I got dosed (perhaps below threshold for alarm) with CO once. I felt groggy and had just started on a new pain medication (since discontinued) for arthritis. I left work and went to the doctors. I pulled a young female out of the rotation, who sent me to an ophthalmologist. As the day went on I began clear up and the ophthalmologist seemed to think I was a malingerer. The heating system was due for routine cleaning and the technician said it was cracked and leaking. I mentioned this to my regular GP at my next regular check up, but the episode has stuck with me.
Everyone should know that those detectors need to be completely changed out every few years. We replace ours every 5-10 years.
Re: Gas Heating.
We were in a rental house a few years ago that had a self contained A/C & Gas Heating Unit (like for a Mobile Home Unit) and the firebox had rusted through and I had been smelling unburned Natural Gas in the house when the A/C was running.
As We had Gas Stove/Oven, Water Heater and Clothes Dryer I had started the process of finding the source of the Natural Gas smell and after eliminating all of those options the Water Heater was vented well and it was in the Laundry Room in the corner.(both the Stove/Oven and the Dryer were brand new, purchased when We moved in to the house.) I decided that the source had to be A/C & Heater Unit.
I knew that the landlord was going to say it’s not his equipment so I called the Gas Company and asked them to come and check it out. I was correct that it was the house unit. So I got the landlord on the phone while the Gas Company Rep was there and let them talk directly to each other.
The landlord,of course still was in denial and had to call “his” HVAC Guy who came out and concurred with Myself and the Gas Company Rep. Even then the landlord wanted to just turn off the gas supply valve to the HVAC unit until winter started. Luckily his Guy sold him a new unit by telling him that the new unit was going to cost more the longer he waited to do it.
I HATE CHEAP landlords !!!
Carbon monoxide poisoning? Just a wild guess.
R.I.P.
Sounds like carbon monoxide poisoning.
Deserves got nothing to do with it...
Legendary? You mean he didn’t really exist?
The Epstein list or severe TDS.
Fire department has handheld CO detectors that are only a phone call away. If you are unsure about it please call.
Either suicide or a carbon monoxide leak.
Sante Fe is chilly and it’s probably an older house.
CO poisoning?
I think his best performance was in Crimson Tide.
Walt Disney’s mother died in a similar fashion. Walt and his brother Roy had just bought a home in Hollywood and moved his parents in. Their father Elias survived. His mother Flora, did not. It was said that Walt felt guilt over it for the rest of his life.

I totally agree. He shall be missed.
We moved into a new house and installed a CO detector that day. A few hours later it went off.
I suspected it was a bad detector but I called the fire department and asked if they had a unit and if they could quietly send a guy over .
Of course, they sent a fire truck and turnout gear. I guess they needed something to do.
I was right. Readings were zero. It was a bad detector.
“He used to jog here in the keys until he got hit by a car.”

An older friend may know of this activity. Near which end?
City?
SOUNDS LIKE CARBON MONOXIDE???
My CO detector required that a “module” had to be replaced every year.
Curious, I peeled the “module” apart. Inside was a standard 9-volt battery...
Someone needs to keep an eye on Dick Van Dyke and his wife, just in case. But in Dick’s case, he doesn’t tend to isolate himself. He’s still likes a lot of interaction with the public.
