Photo of the Rolling Stones....
I have never been a smoker and do not promote smoking but look at the picture.
Notice the three smoking cigarettes are alive. The two not smoking in the picture are dead.
Original member Brian Jones dead of “misadventure.” He died after being found floating in a swimming pool.
“The coroner’s report stated it was a drowning, later clarified as “death by misadventure”, and noted his liver and heart were greatly enlarged by past drug and alcohol abuse.”
Drummer Charlie Watts. Dead at age 80.
“Watts died at a London hospital on 24 August 2021, at age 80, with his family around him. Although the cause of death was never officially stated.”
Mick quit smoking a long time ago, he’s been a health nut for at least the last 40 years.
The Beatles were a better stage Band, BEFORE they made it big.
Personal favorites left out.
Creem
Jimi Hendrix Experience
Jefferson Airplane
Buddy Miles Express
Canned Heat
Paul Butterfield Blues Band
Mahavishnu Orchestra with John McLaughlin.
🤣
But they stopped touring because they knew they couldn’t adequately recreate what they did in the studio.
The Who totally re-did their studio versions live, into much more aggressive versions, especially the “Tommy” stuff, I can’t even listen to the studio version of “Tommy” because the live versions blow them away.
These lists are always lame. Because everyone has there own interpretation. And not only that but those interpretations are subject to change over time. The Eagles and Foreigner were legendary bands as well. And the list goes on.
Wow...a list I actually agree with...maybe not in that order.
Lol!
The Mothers Of Invention
I am so tired of this garbage. Led Zeppelin excepted, none of these bands are truly worthy of the listing.
The way I heard it the Bass player didn’t show up one day and Carol was on. The rest being history.
\m/ How could I leave this behind... \m/
So why did Peter Grant threaten Grand Funk Railroad’s manager , if GFR didn’t drop from their tour with Zep? Because GFR was blowing them off the stage.
Good to hear.
In one of the many histories of the Beatles a current book in the days of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi period for the Beatles, George Harrison was quoted as saying the health food and meditation direction we’re following today will add decades to our lives in the future.
Sad he was the first of the Beatles to go of natural causes.
George couldn’t quit smoking. I think Paul did a long time ago, although he still did pot.
Ringo looks fantastic for his age.
I don’t think that the Beatles are strictly a Rock Band, they did everything. They also broke up at the perfect time, they went out with there best Album.
