Only the USPS and its contractors can legally put mail in your mailbox. That's government property, even though you paid for it. It took a special USPS regulation to allow people to have a second box for a newspaper on the mailbox post.

That was a dig on their key delivery where they can open the garage door and place items in side and close the door. They charge 1.99 for that
I’m well aware of postal regulations.
