In debates—especially on the national stage—when one side gets emotional and/or resorts to ad hominem attacks, it’s a dead giveaway that they’ve got no case.

Labels like Hitler, Nazi, racist, and fascist are just rhetorical crutches—what Greg Gutfeld calls “load-bearing phrases”—meant to express anger at having no defense of their position. It’s a tactic that’s lost its bite.

I like that! “Load-bearing phrases”!

I like Gutfeld as a political commentator who uses humor to buttress his point, rather than a comedian who has political commentary added in.
