Many people don’t realize there was a “Palestine” at one time, for from 1920-48 there was the British Mandate for Palestine, and the name is found on old maps from that time period.
As to there never being a modern nation state of “Palestine”:
Sargon the Great’s army occupied half of Canaan over a hundred years before Abraham stepped foot in the Levant.
C. 1500 BC, the land was called Canaan, not Israel, according to Egyptian stelae. The Egyptians occupied the land under the New Egyptian Kingdom. Later on when Israelites went it they decided to call it by another name. When Babylon took over they renamed it. It was called Palestine by the Greeks and others, c. 500BC, a name later reapplied bytheRomans.
Over time, Catholics took over the land through missionary work, not through conquering, but had it taken from them by invading caliphates, with the Crusades being a reaction to that.
There were no modern nations states then when those names were applied, that is an invention only c. four hundred years or so old, so people now can use any or all of the three to apply to the land.
Many Palestinians trace back to 3100 BC (determined by a Megiddo DNA study), which is over 1,000 years before Abraham.
Other sites dated around 2,500 BC have descendants found among Lebanese Maronite Catholics, and some Palestinians .
Canaanite DNA has been found in numerous modern Jewish people as well, and both sides genetically can lay claim, objectively, to being Semitic.
You’re gonna make people upset with that DNA talk...
Opus?
I noticed you cited no source. Afraid of calling God a liar too directly?
If Muslims don’t want the western world carving up their nation however the west wants, perhaps Muslims shouldn’t go to war against them.
various people may have lived on the land, but where’s info on who owned any of the land there, and at what times? did they sell, or were run off land they properly owned?
tracing dna back 3100 years to what name of people at the time? you mention Palestinians trace back b ut the name Palestinian doesn’t go back that far, so who were they really?
“Palestinian” was a term which also included Jews or anyone living in that area of land, at least in Roman Empire times.
palestine as a people group, has never been one actual people group until much more recent years.
So nice to be dictated history by such a brilliant scholar.
Different DNA in people means nothing. Different names of areas in the Mid East mean nothing. Thru the centuries they have changed as often as a baby’s diaper.
