I worked in aerospace for 30+ years. I had to do the same, submit weekly progress reports to my boss so he could compile his report to his manager. That’s how the real world works.

Ditto here. I was a manager of ten people, who were located in 8 different cities, and each week we had a conference call where they reported on what they had done the past week.

The phone call took about 15 minutes as I was not interested in long dissertations.

I worked for a local judge for 45 years. Every Thursday morning, I better have every ordered report on his desk with copies to attorneys sent out. I didn’t have to do such reports. It was obvious if I hadn’t done the work.
