I’m no fan of Pope Francis. I’m not 100% convinced, but I have a strong tendency to believe that he is an antipope, either because Benedict XVI’s resignation was invalid (made without full freedom, or made only partially), or because he has lost the papacy due to heresy and apostacy. But I’m not 100% sure.

Nevertheless, I pray for him, because he’s gonna need it one way or the other. Our Lord has commanded us to pray for our enemies, and to do good to them. I will say this... as I’ve learned to pray for my enemies over the years (one in particular, but others, too), I have found that it’s really hard to remain angry at them. I think this is one of the reasons Our Lord gave us this command... because of its healing effect on us, as well as the benefit it gives to our enemy.

We must pray for the conversion of all sinners. And whatever we can say about Francis’ legacy, we know he’s a sinner because we all are. It looks like he’s not long for this world. His time is short. We do not have the right to refuse him our prayers and sacrifices.

Do you have any thoughts on who you would like to see elected to succeed him? Or any predictions that are in the realm of possibility?

I agree. Praying for him is the best thing to do.
