Many of the good ones have been driven out. A common saying amongst many old time serving or recently ex cops is ‘job’s fked’.
Morale in the police throughout the UK is at rock bottom. They’re forced to investigate BS ‘crimes’ or ‘non crime hate incidents’ instead of real crimes, they don’t get support when criminals assault them (it used to be a serious crime with severe consequences to assault a police officer but now its a slap on the wrist, which encourages real criminals to react violently to being confronted by the police).
It drives many of the experienced ones who can do better out and many emigrate to Australia, NZ or Canada where they get treated better. Many of the ones who are left are mediocrities and non-entities who just go along with woke or aren’t confident of finding employment elsewhere.
Oh, and speaking as someone who has done Jiu Jitsu for years including as a gues member of a police club, their standard training in arrest and restraint is crap. Many of them couldn’t fight their way out of a paper bag.
This doesn’t surprise me. Sad.
