DOJ Prosecutor Resigns Rather than Stop $20 Billion to Left-wing Climate Groups
Breitbart ^ | Feb 19, 2025 | Joel B. Pollak

As Breitbart News reported last week, Zeldin discovered that the outgoing Biden administration had rushed $20 billion to the left-wing groups, via Citibank, last year before leaving office.

Zeldin promised to recover the funds. But Denise Cheung, criminal division chief of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, DC, refused to order Citibank to stop disbursing the funds, saying that they had been legally allocated under President Joe Biden’s so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” (which expanded government spending on climate).

When Cheung was ordered to send a letter to Citibank telling it to withhold the funds, she resigned.

Of course there’s zero chance that any of that moola is making it’s way back to the “DOJ Prosecutor” in question.

Cheung

Appropriately fired. I wonder if she is a true climate beleiver, a dedicated Leftists, or is just a climber polishing her leftist credentials.

No matter what she was probably not long for the department, so she “builds” street cred as a “resister” this way.

I had no idea there is a Chief of Criminals Division.
Sounds like she is good at her job but you know what eventually happens to all criminals....

Well, at least they got her title almost right: She IS a Criminal, and she WAS a Division Chief.

That’s $20 Billion of our money, a pittance really, circling back to the Democrats one way or another. Not sure I can stomach this any more.

Denise has been there at DOJ 24 years aka embedded and a “made man” and self-entitled.

In a resignation letter to interim US Attorney Ed Martin, Cheung stated that neither the investigation nor the asset freeze was supported by the evidence provided to her by the Deputy Attorney General’s office.

“I have been proud to serve at the US Department of Justice and this office for over 24 years,” she wrote.

“During my tenure, which has spanned over many different administrations, I have always been guided by the oath I took … to support and defend the Constitution.”

The letter did not disclose which executive branch agency’s contract was under scrutiny or the entity that had received it.

Cheung’s departure is the latest in a series of resignations by career Justice Department prosecutors protesting what they perceive as political interference in criminal investigations under the Trump administration.

It's worth noting that Denise Cheung has had a long and distinguished career in the U.S. Department of Justice, spanning over 24 years5. Her most recent position as the head of the criminal division at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C. was a role of significant responsibility, overseeing major criminal cases including those related to national security and the January 6, 2021 Capitol attack6.

Cheung's career demonstrates a progression from consulting and product management roles in the private sector to high-level positions in federal law enforcement. Her educational background in economics, business management, and law has clearly informed her diverse professional experiences. (Harvard Law School)

Of course we or I am asked why would scientists make up climate change? I think this might be part of the funding. No climate change = no funding.
