Panic in DC
X ^ | Tony Seruga

Posted on 02/16/2025 9:02:25 AM PST by FLT-bird

There is absolute panic in DC. Thousands are going to prison and all the taxpayer money they stole will be clawed back.

Internet search trends in the Washington, DC, metro area have been nothing short of stunning in recent weeks, reflecting what appears to be growing panic within the federal bureaucracy as President Trump and Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) root out corruption in non-governmental organizations (NGO) and federal agencies.

Earlier this week, internet search trends for "Criminal Defense Lawyer" and "RICO Laws" went viral on X, fueling speculation that Washington's political elites were in panic mode.

The searches coincided with DOGE's efforts to neuter USAID's funding of NGOs that propped up a shadow government, as well as begin cutting tens of thousands of workers from various federal agencies.

Exactly - the ‘build’ was made to take a constant money flow and distribute it around where it was needed for whatever the shenanigans of the moment is, with some vig drawn at each NGO. No expectation that the spigot would be turned off.

I used to go to these estate sales in Georgetown and load up the station wagon to the pool house alley load up boxes of these boxes for teenage fire pit parties, cheaper than a load of wood from WV.

Democrats are always saying ‘no one is above the law’ so they won’t mind going to prison for the money they’ve stolen.

It’s interesting those in the private sector can so easily be arrested, thrown in cages, break them financially, yet when it comes to the corrupt criminals in government, they’re all protected. Hands off.

That’s all bull shit and seriously needs to come to an end.

I LIKE that! Great point. See my new tag line.

“That’s all bull shit and seriously needs to come to an end.”

Two breakthroughs are needed to bring government to heel:
1. Stop the colossal, massive theft and waste of our money.
2. Send pols to prison.

DOGE is succeeding at #1. When will #2 start?

Bob Menendez was just sentenced to 11 years. That’s a start.

I doubt that more than a handful will go to prison, and those will be low level sacrificial lambs that will bear the brunt of blame.

We should know the deep state by now.

I wish these cases could be tried in Texas, or Florida. After all, Trump’s document trial (from Florida) was tried in a D.C. court.

Great run of albums 1970 on

I saw him do Ziggy several times

And Diamond dogs

I like the Eno Heroes era too

Then he smashed it with China Girl etc

He did a series where he’d play any requests maybe in the 2000s

It was great

By the way Andy Warhol is indeed dead

I was living in Manhattan then

A big deal cultural icon to Manhattan crawlers

I seriously doubt thousands are going to prison.

How many went J6 went to prison for years for illegal parading?

I think it's entirely doable to track down the corrupt bureaucrats and deepstaters to exchange jail cells with the J6 hostages.

Bob Menendez was just sentenced to 11 years. That’s a start.

In 2009, Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) went to prison for five years for bribery and corruption. $90,000 was found in the freezer inside his Congressional office.

He was convicted and sentenced to 13 years in prison before he appealed his case and got his sentence reduced.

So we've got TWO that we can think of, Jefferson and Menendez. I'd add Rod Blagojevich in Illinois.

He was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for attempting to sell the U.S. Senate seat in Illinois that was vacated by Barack Obama upon his election to the presidency. After two trials, Blagojevich was convicted in 2011 on 17 out of 20 corruption charges including wire fraud, attempted extortion, and bribery related to the Senate seat sale. He was acquitted on one count, and the jury was unable to reach a verdict on two others. Judge James B. Zagel emphasized the erosion of public trust in government as a significant harm.

Blagojevich appealed his conviction, with some counts being overturned by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in 2015, but his sentence was upheld. His sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump in February 2020, leading to his release from prison after serving about eight years.

Overall, there haven't bene very many convictions and imprisonments of crooked pols. It's amazing that in the most crooked state, Illinois, Blagojevich was convicted. He must have screwed up really bad in Illinois politics to get convicted and sentenced.

We need a lot more convictions citing Judge Zagel's "erosion of public trust in government as a significant harm."

Even if not true that thousands would go to prison, their fears and actions does prove that something illegal occurred!
