I come from a very broken home, mu mother had like 4 marriages and God only knows what she did outside marriage.

I spent a lot of time, a whole two weeks before deciding to marry a woman and raise a daughter who was the spawn of another man.

Regardless of your own experience, single moms are a horrible deal for men:

You raise another mans kids. Most of the time the woman doesnt want kids with you so that avenue is gone. You do not ever come first, kids first, dog second, you third. You are often just security and utility for the woman. She can still,divorce you and take half your stuff and try to claim child support from you, for kids that aren’t yours.

My parents divorced when I was six. She remarried about a year later. My stepfather raised me, best thing that ever happened to me. He was always there for me, never raised a hand against me, though I knew he was fully capable of kicking my arse.

He was also one of the smartest men I ever knew. His advice was invaluable to my growth. I honored him by giving his name to my son. Instead of being the "3rd" (I was a Junior), Francis was my son's middle name.
