I have a daughter and grandkids in Lake County and a son and dil in DuPage County. Unfortunately, neither of those counties want to secede. :(
I’m a DuPage resident. Unfortunately, this once-red county is turning blue with all of the wealthy leftists moving in, sick of the crime in the city. It’s close enough that the commute is doable, and it’s incredibly safe.
My family purchased here in 1982, and the land alone is worth five times the original purchase price. We’re trying to figure out where to go, because Illinois is going the way of Detroit.
If those counties manage to secede, I may seek refuge.
