When we were in High School we spent hours arguing over who was the better guitarist, drummer etc.
Everybody knew everyone else’s favorite band, it was a part of your identity.

When I was in HS, I didn’t own one single album. Seriously. Couldn’t afford it.
However, my older brother spent his hard earned money on a few albums. I grew up on Simon & Garfunkel through Fleetwood Mac while at home.
When I met my college boyfriend, now husband, I graduated to a wider rock, rhythm, and blues vibe. The first concert he took me to was Eric Clapton in Atlanta. Hard not to fall for that. Or him.
But to your point, and according to my better half, who I just asked, the best drummer was Keith Moon followed closely by John Bonham …and best guitarist, bar none, was Jimmy Page. Clapton is second at guitar. Keith Richards and Mike Campbell follow.
