Booze killed them both, Bonham, literally with about 40 shots of Vodka resulting in inhalation of vomit (like Jimi although he was wired on sleeping pills) Moon OD’d on medicine that was supposedly helping him kick booze as he was a raging alcoholic.
Keith Moon was very good, but he was just out of control. Townsend would throw things at him because if he didn’t play something for a while, he would forget the beats. He didn’t use his top hat either. Bonham was just amazing.
