How many double digit odds horses do you add into the trifecta box mix? One, two, three?
I have been adding in just one long odds horse in a four box trifecta and with the typical payouts for trifectas have been sorely disappointed lately.
Thanks for your kindly advice.

To me it honestly has alot to do with trainer/jockey combos. I am fortunate to have a good number of smart Puerto Rican friends to bounce ideas off of. If i box 4 horses for a tri i always add at least one double digit odds for the early races. The later day races always seem to have better long shot results. I add one mid range odds horse, (5/1 through 8/1), for the first 3 or 4 races. As the day goes on I try to find more viable longshots.
As always, you can study the trends and stats all day long but it still comes down to luck. Especially as they bump and jostle leaving the gate.
