8 years is a really long time to survive. If the stats are accurate, there are about 12,000 people diagnosed every year. At 10 years there are on average less than 70 (0.7%) survivors. At 4 years the number of survivors is about 780 (6.5%). With luck and the grace of God, those that survive also do with a good quality of life.

Whatever treatment a person selects, it only has to work for them. It’s all about kicking the can down the road until someday a cure can be found.

I am sure with insurance, it is whatever your max out of pocket will be for Optune.

There was a promising device out of Houston that looked like a 3 can beer hat. It used some type of rotating neo magnet that was tuned to resonate cancer cells until there structure fails. That one didn’t require shaving and only needed to be worn 6 hours a day. That one looked very interesting. Like most of these treatments, after several stories it just disappeared.

The idea behind the Optune is to disrupt mitosis with electric fields.

The person I’m referring to has survived, but has pretty significant cognitive issues(speech and reading disruption, memory gaps).
