It is interesting that the Preamble to the Constitution doesn’t include ‘We the States.’ It is up to the People to enforce the social contract. The problems of “migration” are a rate function. In a way, “The People” of the United States are no longer because of the fraction represented by recent immigrants, legal and otherwise, bearing loyalty to foreign interests.
I read recently Oregon declared itself a “sanctuary state” in 1987.
Cut off all Fed $ from Sanctuary.
Arrest and jail the town, city or State officials who declare they are a sanctuary to illegal aliens.
One thought is that the definition of sanctuary city needs to be determined. There is no legal or universal definition of the phrase, but sanctuary cities are commonly regarded as jurisdictions which have policies that limit or define the extent to which a local/state government will share information with federal immigration law officers. Which means they do not have to participate in the discovery or the holding of illegals. But they cannot lie to give them flight either.
So if there are illegals in the proximity, they can just walk on by legally. But they can’t participate in their hiding. Otherwie, aiding and abetting.

There is no law, so far as I know, that requires local law enforcement to enforce federal law.
Many of us applauded local sheriffs around the country when they said their resources would not be used to enforce obtrusive federal gun laws. Enforcing federal law is the purpose of federal law enforcement.
What local law cannot do is to obstruct federal authorities.
I'm OK with keeping federal and state/local law independent of each other.
In any event keep democrats out of the White House.
