The Department of Government Efficient has its website up. It’s live. The crew leading this audit has rattled the DC establishment and uncovered hordes of wasteful spending and fraud, leading to USAID being virtually shut down. All overseas missions were closed, its functions absorbed into the State Department, and most of its labor force given the axe. DOGE Tracker gave us some insight into the activities of this agency.

Look, even Trump is smart enough to know he just cannot put “Follow me on truth social” on official government websites. There should be absolutely no connections with official government websites and private corporations.
TDS? I am one of Trump’s strongest supporters, and this is why this particular issue bothers me. This arrogant stupidity reflects right back onto Trump. Musk represents Trump, and what he does can stain Trump. And THIS right here is steeping out of bounds. Musk is getting too arrogant and taking liberties he has no right to take.

An official government website has absolutely no business advertising for a private commercial enterprise period. Would we give it a pass if it was Harris and Bluesky? Please do not conflate the two issues my friend. Of course what they are doing is absolutely fantastic. Please do not try to tie my opposition to this website issue with the absolute good work they are doing. They are totally independent and separate issues.
No official website should ever advertise for a private commercial venture for any reason period. The site is absolutely great except for that one direct link to X. That is out of bounds...

Why purposely hand the enemy ammo they absolutely can use? That is stupid. I am just making the point whether it is contested or not it is just wrong out of the gate. Even Trump would never include a direct link to Truth Social on an official government website. It is a direct conflict of interest. The government is not in the advertisement business nor should it ever be no matter who is in control. We should never set this precedent or cross this line.
Here is the deal, Musk absolutely knows this is bad form and out of bounds, yet he did it anyhow. This means he cares more about himself than he does Trump. And that is starting to become a pattern with his personal arrogance. Once you cross certain lines you are harming Trump not helping him.

Followup—my grandfather had a construction business and he tried to train me to take over for him—I did not do that.
But—he had an amazing comment on how to handle the IRS.
Grandpa said: “Do a couple of minor things wrong. You want them to catch you so they feel like they accomplished something when they audit you.
Be sure and apologize to the auditor for your mistakes—and promise them you will never do it again.”

The point is you should not break the law to claim you are enforcing the law. This never turns out well in the end. Musk should never be allowed to end up harming Trump more than he helps him. It is better to win the game playing by the rules than to cheat like the left would. It can be done just as easy.
