lol...just heard our new press secretary debunk this entire line of thought about "punishing" AP.

She said it's a privilege and an honor to be invited into the Oval Office. Not every journalist is just extended this invite. The AP refused to acknowledge or agree with the reality that the US government officially considers the body of water formerly called the "Gulf of Mexico" as "Gulf of America".

There are plenty of news organizations that are happy to acknowledge a new reality and a name change. Why is the administration obligated to invite to the Oval Office those who won't acknowledge the Presidents policies as being legitimate?

Agreed. Look at the countless news sources who didn't have access to the WH for decades. The AP hates no longer being one of the privileged few.

Besides, there are plenty of legacy media sources still in the WH briefing room who are part of the AP. So it's not like the AP doesn't have someone in there.
