This is reminding me of Super Bowl I in which the Packers blew out the Chiefs 35-10. I was rooting for the Chiefs because KC is closer to Whittier, Calif. than Green Bay, and USC Trojans star Mike Garrett was their tailback.
I had to listen to the game on the radio because it was blacked out in LA—local games weren’t televised unless they were sold out, which Super Bowl I wasn’t. Some folks were making “Super Bowl antennas” out of coat hangers so they could catch the telecast from San Diego.
I was at Super Bowl 1 and wanted KC to take it, but no. The stadium was about 3/4 full.
