There are multiple laws on the books and executive orders from the governor's desk protecting the "rights" of boys to compete with girls in California schools.

If an out-of-State competitor is injured as a result, I wonder if this becomes a matter of civil liability in Federal Court. As a Californian, I hope it costs the State a bundle.

Might be a good case. Also likely that California teams may end up only playing with each other, as out-of-state teams revise their schedules to stay complaint.
