before it even gets the 0:10 · chance to go to space and yes this is 0:12 · the second video that I'm releasing 0:14 · today because there's just so much news 0:17 · going on it's hard to keep up but let's 0:20 · start with the biggest headline of the 0:21 · day Boeing has informed its employees 0:24 · that NASA May cancel SLS contracts and 0:27 · Boeing is the primary contractor for or 0:30 · the SLS rocket or space launch system 0:33 · rocket and this is breaking news as of 0:35 · today according to reporting by Eric 0:38 · berer an all hands on deck meeting was 0:41 · scheduled with less than an hour's 0:43 · notice today on Friday February 7th 0:46 · leading the meeting was Boeing's vice 0:48 · president David ducher and apparently 0:51 · this meeting was quick it lasted about 6 0:54 · minutes ducher didn't take any questions 0:56 · and it sounded very scripted according 0:58 · to people who were at the meeting and 1:00 · David addressed nearly 800 employees 1:03 · working on the program Dutcher let those 1:05 · employees know that Boeing's contracts 1:07 · for the SLS rocket could likely end in 1:11 · March in that the company Was preparing 1:13 · for layoffs in case the contracts with 1:15 · NASA were not renewed so yes this is the 1:18 · official 60-day notice this notification 1:21 · by Boeing was issued as part of the 1:24 · worker adjustment and retraining 1:26 · notification or warrant act which 1:28 · requires us employers with 100 or more 1:31 · full-time employees to provide a 60-day 1:33 · notice in advance of mass layoffs or 1:36 · plant closings a boing's spokesperson 1:39 · was quoted saying to align with 1:41 · revisions to the Artemis program and 1:43 · cost expectations today we informed our 1:46 · space launch systems team of the 1:48 · potential for approximately 400 fewer 1:51 · positions by April 2025 this will 1:54 · require 60-day notices of involuntary 1:56 · layoff be issued to impacted employees 1:58 · in coming weeks and accordance with that 2:01 · warn act the statement continues we are 2:03 · working with our customer that would be 2:05 · NASA and seeking opportunities to 2:07 · redeploy employees across our company to 2:10 · minimize job losses and retain our 2:12 · talented teammates and according to this 2:14 · RS Technica article multiple sources say 2:17 · there has been a healthy debate within 2:19 · the White House and Senior leadership at 2:21 · Nasa including acting administrator 2:24 · Janet petro and of course at stake is 2:27 · the future of the SLS rocket and the 2:29 · Artemis Moon program apparently the 2:31 · debate is split though some commercial 2:33 · space Advocates want to cancel the 2:36 · rocket completely but Janet Petro has 2:38 · been urging the White House to allow 2:41 · NASA to fly the Artemis 2 and Artemis 3 2:44 · missions using the initial version of 2:47 · the SLS rocket before the program is 2:49 · cancelled and you might have missed it 2:51 · but I just did an interview with Charlie 2:53 · carda he is a former STS astronaut and 2:58 · one of the first people to fly 3:00 · after the Columbia tragedy he has issued 3:03 · a dire warning against flying the 3:06 · Artemis 2 mission with the Orion heat 3:08 · shield as is so there's already debate 3:11 · about that and if you want to watch the 3:13 · video you can to get the background on 3:15 · that and what my my advice to the 3:17 · astronaut office is you know what we 3:19 · have we shouldn't fly but there's a fix 3:22 · for this it might take several months 3:25 · but we take these other pieces of foam 3:27 · off and you could fly safe or we change 3:29 · out these Wing Leading Edge panel and 3:33 · and so I know how to put together these 3:35 · teams to solve these problems quickly so 3:38 · that the program managers don't have to 3:41 · tell you that they have you know what 3:43 · are we never going to fly again you know 3:45 · that's the argument they make and they 3:47 · pressure uh people to make the decisions 3:50 · but I also asked one of the people on 3:53 · the nesc team would you fly on aamus 2 3:58 · and the person said no 4:01 · but Charlie if I was an astronaut like 4:04 · um Reed Weissman and I was in the office 4:08 · I would fly on the vehicle that's why 4:10 · you don't ask astronauts that are 4:12 · assigned to fly are you ready to fly you 4:16 · ask the head of the astronaut office and 4:18 · the head of the astronaut office should 4:20 · be looking out for the safety of those 4:22 · astronauts and saying you know what this 4:24 · is we we we we will accept risk but this 4:28 · is risk that is unne necessary we don't 4:31 · have to we don't have to accept this 4:33 · risk if we would have done these other 4:36 · things two years ago when other when 4:38 · really smart technical people were 4:40 · telling them that's what they should 4:43 · do and so what H and so Ellie why is 4:47 · NASA broken right now because you have 4:50 · program office here that has all the 4:53 · money directs all the research dollars 4:56 · tells everybody what to do and they have 4:58 · so much more power 5:00 · than that than the engineering 5:02 · organization down here and the people up 5:06 · here you know it's like any 5:08 · bureaucracy the people that have the 5:10 · least knowledge are in the positions 5:13 · that are making the most critical 5:14 · decisions and I asked you guys on X what 5:18 · you think should happen should SLS be 5:21 · cancelled or should they fly Artemis 2 5:23 · and3 using the initial version of the 5:26 · SLS rocket remember a single launch 5:29 · costs in excess of $2 billion and this 5:32 · excludes payloads or the cost of ground 5:35 · systems so what is this last minute All 5:37 · Hands meeting mean well it's looking 5:40 · more and more likely that the Trump 5:41 · White House might just completely end 5:44 · the SLS program and president Trump will 5:46 · be making a budget proposal in March so 5:49 · we'll see what happens now of course 5:52 · Jared isaacman who will be the new NASA 5:54 · administrator isn't confirmed quite yet 5:57 · and that should happen at the end of 5:59 · this month month so I'm wondering what 6:01 · his opinion is of all of this and what 6:03 · his say will be as well NASA has already 6:06 · spent about $3 billion a year developing 6:09 · the SLS rocket and its ground systems 6:11 · over the entire program's lifetime so 6:14 · what do you guys think in the comments 6:15 · should SLS be just completely canceled 6:18 · cold turkey or should they try to 6:20 · squeeze out Artemus 2 and three missions 6:23 · and then end it from there either way 6:26 · this seems like a pretty good indication 6:28 · that things are not going well for the 6:30 · program and I expect to see it 6:32 · completely canceled I wouldn't be 6:34 · surprised and as I mentioned in the 6:36 · beginning of this video apparently a 6:38 · luxury space balloon company on Florida 6:41 · Space Coast is probably going to shut 6:43 · down you may have even seen space 6:45 · perspectives ads for their luxury 6:48 · balloon that'll take you to space I've 6:51 · seen a ton of their ads but apparently 6:53 · that's part of the problem seems like 6:55 · they spent a lot more money on 6:57 · advertising and marketing than actual 6:59 · ual development and we have some insight 7:02 · based on an email sent out from the CEO 7:05 · on February 5th space perspective CEO 7:08 · sent an email to stakeholders Michael 7:11 · Savage acknowledged the company's 7:12 · inability to secure new funding mounting 7:15 · debts and the board's recommendation to 7:17 · begin winding down operations which is a 7:20 · big bummer because their advertisements 7:23 · looked really cool we see a lot of ideas 7:25 · for space tourism and for the most part 7:29 · they're just just ideas and this idea in 7:31 · particular was for high altitude balloon 7:33 · flights so for the past few months space 7:36 · perspective has been trying to secure 7:38 · new Investments but this has just not 7:40 · worked out the CEO says that they had 7:43 · initial interest from potential backers 7:45 · but they didn't cough up the money and 7:47 · this is because there are concerns from 7:50 · the people that would have forked over 7:51 · the money about the growing debt and 7:53 · financial instability of the company 7:55 · apparently space perspective also 7:58 · already has over 8:00 · $90,000 in unpaid rent for three Parcels 8:04 · at Space Coast Regional Airport which 8:06 · led of course to them being evicted in 8:09 · January and you know what I feel bad for 8:11 · them because this was a bold idea and it 8:13 · would have been really cool if it worked 8:14 · out Michael Savage the space perspective 8:18 · interim CEO goes on to say that he along 8:21 · with co-founders of the company 8:23 · voluntarily removed themselves from the 8:25 · payroll throughout much of last year and 8:28 · this year but but that's not the end of 8:30 · the story according to an article from 8:32 · the Launchpad Network apparently there 8:35 · are mounting accusations of 8:37 · mismanagement from the company's 8:39 · employees former employees have accused 8:41 · space perspective of Reckless financial 8:44 · decisions including excessive spending 8:46 · on marketing and branding initiatives at 8:48 · the expense of critical manufacturing 8:50 · and operational needs some former 8:52 · employees have also claimed that they 8:54 · had delayed employee paychecks a lack of 8:57 · transparency from their Le leadership 9:00 · and ignored internal warnings about 9:02 · financial instability it's unfortunate 9:04 · that this won't work out because in 9:07 · September of 2024 not that long ago 9:10 · space perspective conducted a successful 9:13 · uncrewed test flight of its spaceship 9:15 · Neptune excelsor reaching an altitude of 9:19 · 100,000 ft so I thought that this was 9:21 · just an interesting tie in to the idea 9:24 · of SLS completely being cancelled and 9:27 · apparently this luxury space balloon 9:29 · being cancelled by not getting enough 9:32 · money and not spending money effectively 9:35 · we know that space is hard and it's also 9:37 · hard to have a successful company in the 9:40 · space industry and it just gives me a 9:43 · lot of respect for the companies that 9:44 · are able to make it so sorry for the 9:46 · second video in one day but I thought 9:48 · that this was an important update to 9:50 · give you and thanks so much for watching 9:52 · my channel I'll see you in the next 9:54 · video 9:59 · [Music]

The hits just keep coming for beleaguered, woke Boeing. Now their Space Launch System rocket contract.
DEI in action.
The real question is, when will Musk/SpaceX get the poor stranded astronauts down? They’ve been up there what? A year? Just damn.
Get woke, dude, ‘cause now....you’re broke!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I know an engineer at Boeing whose job was to coordinate the customer’s interior design specifications so the planes would be delivered as ordered. She recently got removed from that position for telling a customer the truth - they wouldn’t be getting their planes on the promised delivery date.
Apparently Boeing makes all kinds of delivery promises knowing it won’t happen.
It’s really terrible to see such a great company self-destruct.

Is this Elon’s competition?
They’re late. They’re over budget and they’ve proven themselves to be completely unreliable.
DEI strikes again.
Engineers should be hired because of their competency - NOT their genitals, sexual preference, religion, political beliefs, ancestry, or skin color.
DEI = DEATH and DESTRUCTION
End the rot! Blitzkrieg The Culture War!!!
Worthless thread since no one knows what the F SLS is.
Because of NASA’s blunders, the moon will be a Chinese province long before any American rocket gets there.
