It's the perceived Democratic base that does it. They perceive that their base is Woke Democrats largely in academia (Students and Professors) and their activist press. In that, they are correct, but this is not even 10% of their constituencies.
The other constituencies are the more liberal minded who are current confused by their Parties woke policies and narratives. Some, like JFK Jr have figured out the Party left them out years ago. Some are just realizing it and other Liberals stick to the party out of shear family loyalty.
Their Hispanic constituencies are also in turmoil. Tending to be more religious and family oriented. They have been fed a diet of anti-American workism on the Spanish speaking networks. The anti-catholism of the Party is causing them to rethink their party loyalty. Their family values conflict greatly with the males in the womens/girls bathrooms in school and elsewhere, plus the loss of girls' sports to males claiming to be females has sent many to vote in Protest to Trump.
African-American women have been fiercely loyal to the Democratic Party and most ignore the women's issues. But the men have taken their parties positions on COVID, Democratic Cities Looting and Burning (which many supporeted initally) and the fact that jobs are not a priority for the party has cause a good number to vote in Protest to Trump silently. However, the majority that protested the Democratic Partys Wokism by voting for Trump do not like the Republican party at all. Thus when Trump's coattails are gone, may find themselves gravitating back to the party.
Whether Trump's resent dynamicism will change the dynamic, we will just have to wait and see. My take on the Republicans Party is that they are looking to thwart if not backstab Trump the usurper and his minions given the opportunity.
Their failure to protect the voting system has alienated many voters from the party including this one.
Like many voters these days, I have gone fiercely independent and like many loyal Americans to their country I will tell advocates of both the parties trying to manipulate my vote, that it is None of their Business, thank you very much, my wallet now being closed to both of them.
To get one thin dime out of me they will have to prove their loyalty to this country and benefit me and my family securely. As it is right now, it will be a very hard boat to row for both of them.
It's likely that Black men were motivated to vote for Trump and it's extremely unlikely his successor will be able to get the votes from them the next time.
The only way I can see it happening again is if Kamala Harris decides to run for President again in 2028.
