I have had this account on FR since maybe 2012 and I have never heard of USAID until early last week. I am obviously not defending the corrupt organization but just never once heard of it.

Even when the tea party was up and coming trying to reign in government spending not once did I ever hear this organization mentioned.

Same here. It speaks to how committed politicians were to keeping it on the down-low. That's shady in and of itself.
