Gabbard, RFK Jr. committee votes come down to the wire (10 am & 2pm!)
Poltico Live ^ | Feb 4 | By Lisa Kashinsky and Mia McCarthy

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard’s confirmation chances are coming down to a trio of publicly uncommitted Republican senators who have the power to sink their nominations in committee votes Tuesday.

Sen. Bill Cassidy is the sole wildcard on the Senate Finance Committee, which will decide whether to advance the HHS secretary nominee at 10 a.m. Cassidy has indicated that he’s still troubled by Kennedy’s vaccine skepticism, and he’s balancing his physician past with his political future in deep-red Louisiana, where he’s up for reelection next year.

Cassidy told reporters Monday he had a “cordial” conversation with Kennedy over the weekend but was “still working through” his decision. Senate Majority Leader John Thune and Cassidy have talked about it.

Over on Senate Intelligence, Sens. Todd Young and Jerry Moran have yet to disclose how they intend to vote on Gabbard’s nomination for national intelligence director during a closed session at 2 p.m. Young told reporters Monday that he had “a lot of great conversations” over the weekend regarding Gabbard. Moran left Gabbard’s hearing last Thursday saying her responses to his questions on Russia and keeping intelligence nonpartisan were “satisfactory” — but declined to say how he would vote

They say Sen. Cassidy(LA) remains undecided on Kennedy while Young (Ind.) is undecided on Gabbard either voting no in committee can cause problems if it's a party line vote.

My prediction is they wont do this and will let them advance

There is a Plan B if they get stalled in committee. Thune can bring them to the floor anyway with some arcane procedure.

GOP Senators voting no should lose their committee appointments.

Trust. But verify.

Accounts can, and probably will, be held until far into the future.

Nobody escapes the consequences, ever.

I’m thinking they’re all talk and its just some drama or fake theater .

It’s beyond belief Cassidy would sink a nomination when he’s up for election

Stranger things have happened though!

Regardless of how he votes on this, Cassidy needs to go next year.

“New research suggests that some toddlers diagnosed with autism may not meet the condition’s diagnostic criteria by age 7. The study, published in JAMA PediatricsTrusted Source, looked at 213 children diagnosed with autism at 12 to 36 months of age and reevaluated them at 5 to 7 years old after some form of treatment.

“Nearly 40% of children studied were no longer considered autistic by age 7.”

Expect RFK Jr. to fight for your dollars to be used for moms to stay home to raise toddlers.

My prediction: Big Pharma promises Cassidy a Golden Parachute when he leaves office.
Maybe 20 or 30 million. Or hires him as a "board member" or a "consultant".

Doctors more concerned with vaccines, which is barely relevant to the HHS Secy, than the chronic disease epidemic literally sickening millions of children ? Imagine that !

Never forget - Cassidy has to evaluate the wrath of a woman scorned in the image of Nicole Shanahan and her promise to fund a primary opponent like she did with Rafael Warnock and John Ossoff.

No senator as far as I know would believe childhood vaccines could be found unsuitable for general use by the rigorous scientific testing Kennedy would like done.

Bear in mind that when getting a vaccination, a child is not only getting a vaccine that challenges the child’s immune system, but also many breaths of the broad spectrum of noxious germs likely to be lingering in the provider’s place of business.

Perhaps childhood vaccinations should be given outside of the provider’s business in the fresh air, or an air cleansing system be used inside the business.

I would also look into toddler nutrition. It may be especially important that toddlers transfer from mother’s milk to nutritious food without harmful levels of bad stuff.

Autism is commonly found starting after toddlers stop relying totally on milk.

What is important is that Kennedy be given the means to provide the knowledge and pharmaceutical & food quality control needed for healthier Americans.

So, drama queens Bill Cassidy and Todd Young will get the face time and publicity they so desperately crave.

#14: "Wow ive not considered that."

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm thinking of how they got to Paul Ryan. Paul Ryan obstructed President Trump
at every turn. Had it not been for Ryan, the Wall would have been completed 4 or 5 years ago.
Ryan queers the wall, and he ends up on the board of Fox News.

If Cassidy votes no, he will be primaried next year and his political career will come to an end.
