Maybe his private home, but I believe the governor’s mansion is state owned in Princeton , the mansion dating from the 1700s when it belonged to Richard Stockton, a signer.

should have checked, on Stockton Street, but not his home

This Greek Revival mansion was built circa 1834 for Charles S. Olden, Governor of New Jersey during the Civil War. Moses Taylor Pyne, the second owner, enlarged the house in the late 1890’s. Now owned by the State of New Jersey, it is the official residence of the Governor. Open Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. Group tours by appointment.
