No screw. Water jet. Not as efficient but quieter. On a sub silence is golden. We were rigged for ultra quiet one night, our fans shifted to low and I was laying in my rack. I heard a freighter pass over us and could count the screws chop the water. Heard the noise through the hull. Undetected is the name of the game on a boomer. Cavitation is a killer. I’d never ride another boat but being an old machinist mate I’d love to get a look at drawings of the propulsion system on the newer boats.
