Q could be referencing the Palantir corporation or the Palantir from the “Ring” saga. The original Palantir was a kind of videophone where people far away from each other could communicate securely.

Just to rehash a discussion from more than a year ago, there is a lot of correlation between the Palantir platform and the ProMIS software. ProMIS was at the heart of the Vince Foster conspiracy. ProMIS stands for Prosecutor's Management Information System and was commissioned by The Reagan Admin to create a data warehouse (before data warehouses existed) to look for patterns between raw data provided by all the three-lettered agencies. This data was used to locate criminal behavior from these systems that were not directly compatible with one another. The story is that the NSA inserted a back door into certain versions of ProMIS that allowed the surveillance of banking transactions and it was the distribution of this special version that Foster oversaw.

While ProMIS provided historical data to locate evidence of past criminal behavior, Palantir is reported to use the data and AI to anticipate future locations and targets of the same type of criminal behavior. My guess is that the same sources are used to feed both systems and the same types of expertise is used to engineer the systems that produce the results.
