Vivek is going to run for governor of Ohio and he’s gung-ho on H1-B Visas. He believes that people like me who are in software engineering and are 60 years old shouldn’t have a job, it should be filled with someone who works for less $ and is completely incompetent.

Let’s say a U.S. employee can do the work for $100. An Indian worker in India can do it for $25. The problem is often their work has to be fixed or redone by someone in the U.S. Now instead of doing it for $100 an hour you’re doing it for $125 an hour.

I’m not painting with a broad brush here but it’s often the case.

Thanks for the additional. Bad news! I hope he loses. Foreign workers should only be allowed if the do NOT take jobs from Americans. Otherwise... NONE!

It is and I'm tired of pretending it's not. What's worse is the Indians lack creativity. They can't think their way out of a paper bag without instruction. Very few Indian software developers I've worked with know how to navigate around a problem.
