USA anthem once again booed. 3 fights within first 8 seconds of the game. USA wins 3-1 and ends the 4 nations (Sweden, Finland, Canada, USA) round robin 3-0.

My experience is that the rest of Canada is usually more polite than Quebecers and wouldn’t have booed the US anthem (I’m disrespecting them by not referring to them as Quebecois). I’m sorry Montreal was chosen to host the games in Canada. They always embarrass the rest of us with their rudeness.

My experience as well. Quebec is a cesspool.

Hubby had the opening ceremony and hockey game start on in the background with closed caption as I was listening to GoodDog. The commotion looked like bad movie plot unfolding —maybe Rocky IV, which I recall was the best Rocky movie, but rewatched the other week and found it laughable.
Maybe the whole thing is staged.
A good friend of ours used to regularly travel to Montreal for business meetings, and he was was initially bemused at the rudeness he encountered. After a while, it grated on him. In later years he changed jobs, the new one taking him into Manitoba and Saskatchewan, trips which he said were "about the same as being in North Dakota" (which was rather vague, now that I think about it).
